Did I have paranormal activity in my old house?

In my old house, when I was trying to sleep, I could hear my creaky chair spinning around, and then I open my eyes and it stopped. Then I could hear footsteps and creaking in the passage way, and the touch lamp in the spare room turned on when we weren't there. My mum opened her bedroom door and saw a white light flashing past her. She got scared and ran into her room. Was there a ghost in my old house?
