Can we get a pet conure if kids have food allergies?

My daughters have food allergies to peanuts, almonds, and pecans, and one of them has a contact allergy to wheat. If we got a pet conure, what could we feed it? I am assuming most (all?) bird pellets and food mixes contain these ingredients.
