What happens if someone follows you all the way home.?

I was walking home alone from school and I heard footsteps. I did not dare to turn back and kept walking throughout. I stopped and the footsteps stop too, then somehow, I turned back and saw a man smiling, waved to me, then he ran away. It continued for 3 days and I had enough of it! Please help me find a solution to this! This is weird!
