Wild Rice w/ Pecans and Cranberries or Gruyere Mash Potatoes?

WELL, I am a fan of mashed potatoes, but it could be too heavy to go with such a creamy entree depending on how you prepare both dishes. Th wild rice sounds like it would be a lighter, fresh addition to the meal.
